CNN has an article outlining some unusual investments. Not ones that I'd recommend as a good basis for your retirement fund, but fun to browse through:
* Buying real estate in exotic locales.
* Buying rights to wind and solar sites.
* Investing in unknown artists.
* Commodity indexes.
* Franchising.
